Marirose Roach

Marirose Roach is a distinguished attorney whose journey in advocacy began at an early age, fueled by a unique blend of inspiration and personal experience. Growing up, she was captivated by the words of a song her mother would harmonize to—“Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to Be Cowboys”—in which her mother would passionately fill in with “Let ’em be doctors and lawyers and such.” This early influence instilled in her a deep-seated commitment to justice, particularly for those in need.

Adopted by a single mother alongside her brother, Marirose quickly learned the importance of resilience and support within a family. Her competitive spirit was evident from a young age, as she joined an all-boys tackle football team at just five years old, competing alongside her male counterparts until the age of fourteen. This early engagement in sports set the groundwork for a formidable athletic career, which saw her shine as a Division One Track and Field and Soccer athlete at Temple University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in 2003. Marirose's passion for tackle football later earned her accolades as one of the most prolific female players in the sport's history, including MVP honors in two separate leagues, ultimately earning the nickname "Mari Sanders" after her favorite running back, Barry Sanders.

Transitioning from athletics to law, Marirose graduated from Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 2006, where her fierce competitive nature seamlessly translated into her legal career. She quickly garnered recognition as a "Super Lawyers Rising Star" and received the prestigious Philadelphia VIP MVP Award for her dedication to pro bono work. Marirose’s practice is defined by her empathy for underrepresented populations, especially those who share her journey as members of single-parent households.

Dedicated to giving back, Marirose devotes her spare time to serving her community. Beyond the courtroom, she coaches women's flag football at North Penn High School, co-chairs the LGBTQ+ Police Liaison Committee in Philadelphia, and serves on the advisory board of the Black Women in Sport Foundation. Her philanthropic efforts include organizing annual fundraisers for the Bebashi Food Pantry, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Philadelphia Police Department school supply drive. Marirose also founded a nonprofit organization called FootballHers, Inc. geared to increasing the involvement and athleticism of girls and women in football.

Since starting her practice in 2009 after working with both midsize and small boutique firms, Marirose has accumulated two decades of experience providing legal representation across a range of practices, including estate planning, probate, family law, and civil litigation. Her commitment to advocacy, community, and justice makes Marirose Roach a remarkable force in both her professional and personal endeavors.
